AutoSPRINK 2024 New Features Overview

Text Display Update
Improved how text is displayed to eliminate discrepancies when swapping between the OpenGL and GLSL render methods and when using the Export to PDF option.
WARNING: Opening an AutoSPRINK 2024 drawing file in any previous version of AutoSPRINK (2023-and-earlier) may result in unexpected changes to text properties.
We recommend only using AutoSPRINK 2024 to open files that have been saved in AutoSPRINK 2024.
Consider saving backups of 2023-and-older .CAD files before saving over those files in AutoSPRINK 2024, just in case you need to revert back to using a previous software version for any reason.
Database Update
To provide designers with increased stability and flexibility, AutoSPRINK has updated its database from Microsoft Access to a more robust format of Microsoft SQL Server. When upgrading to AutoSPRINK 2024, designers may want to transfer data from their existing database into the default database provided with 2024. This can be completed using the Merge Parts Database tool.

Migrate Settings from Previous Versions to AutoSPRINK 2024
We recommend creating a new core settings file for each new year/edition of AutoSPRINK. You can speed up the settings rebuilding process by saving a few of the “sub-settings files” available in your AutoSPRINK 2023 program and then loading them into AutoSPRINK 2024. This includes:
Parts Profile Settings File (.ASPP) (Settings > Parts Profile > “Export Profiles”)
Pipe Group Settings File (.ASPG) (Settings > Fabrication Standards > Pipes tab > “Save Pipe Groups As”)
Hanger Profile Settings File (.ASHP) (Settings > Fabrication Standards > Hanger Assemblies > “Export Profile”)
We also have starter/default Settings and Template files available on the Downloads page.
Variable Speed Pressure Limiting Devices
Added a new option to the Properties dialog of Pumps to designate the pump as being a Variable Speed Pressure Limiting Device (VSPLD), which can speed up or slow down the motor or engine to control the fire pump’s pressure output. The new option allows users to enter hydraulic performance data to run calculations with a VSPLD.

Mill Cut Pipe
Designers can now designate pipes of a certain length and type as being Mill Cut. This status can be set from the View Pipe Sticks dialog within Stock Listing Reports, and will update the pipe’s description and stick length on all stock listing reports.
